CHALLENGE

Founded in 1921 as a small general store, this employee-owned retailer has grown into hundreds of stores. They needed to inspire their customers to keep coming back instead of heading over to one of the big box chains. They also needed to attract an entirely new customer—millennial moms.

SOLUTION

With the insight that “we care more because we own the place,” a new branding campaign featured real employees. By highlighting the little extras, like know-you-by-your name service, Brookshire Brothers got credit for being a true member of the rural communities they serve.

Brand Truth:
Low prices don’t mean much without good values.

CAMPAIGN EVOLUTION

To celebrate their 100th year anniversary, ads brought to life the company’s mission to “be good people who sell good food and do good deeds.”

RETAIL EXPERIENCE DESIGN

We also help design interior décor and signage to craft a retail experience tailored for each local community. For example, the Canyon Lake store features natural touches, while the College Station store has a modern-industrial feel customized for Aggies at Texas A&M University.

“Ampersand has helped us find our unique niche and our brand voice in a competitive, high volume-low margin world. They’ve helped us tell our story in an authentic way in a very crowded space. We appreciate the partnership.”
